Cleaning up my Closet

Saturday, March 30, 2013

As I was cleaning my closet today I found my old high school yearbook, I opened it and walked through memory lane. As I scan the pages, 2 pieces of paper fell on the floor. One was my letter to my mother which I never had the courage to give to her. It was written probably 7 years ago, my freshmen year in college.
My High School Yearbook and it's upside down

my letter to my mother

I know I have a bad penmanship. So I typed it for you.

Dear Mama,
Let me start by saying I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I didn't turn out to be exactly the way you want me to be. I'm sorry if I failed your expectations.
I tried but I feel like I don't belong. I tried to fit in but I only turned out to be a misfit. I'm Bad.
I had a rough year and thank you for not giving up on me.
I love you
Lorre.

My Mama's reply.. mas bati siya'g agi nako ha..
Dear Lorre,
What are you thinking? You are everything we could only hope for. You are exceeding our expectations. You should never try to fit in. you are different from other kids. We know it all along. Don't feel sorry for what you are. We are so proud of what you are and what you are becoming.

Love you always,
Mama

You know how things are in college. When things get boring in class. I used to scribble on my notebook or any piece of paper that I could get to hold. This is one of those scribbles. I don't know how and I don't know when she wrote her reply. What bugles me is how did she know about my letter. My yearbook was just sitting in my closet since the day I got it. NAKAKAHIYA NA!!!But still.. I LOVE YOU MOM!!!
